I've had it for 6+ months with no problems. The fan makes some noise, but it's negligible. Very happy with purchase. This unit has no power management ( one has to manually turn it off after use ) , other similar units sold by "serious" manufacturers have advanced power management which will turn the drive off when the pc is powered down. This unit is also quite noisy. There are many other alternatives that seem to be way ahead in terms of product maturity and features.
